I guess part of accumulating things, or as someone likes to call me a baby packrat, is I always have something on hand to make, or a project I've been planning on making.
I was hunting for something when I came across these chrome plated hooks, still in the package, too bad I can't remember buying them, a packrat I am I guess.
The plan is to make a simple coat hook with a walnut mounting board.
I'm the guy next door.
Well, if your neighbor has a shaved head and a bunch of tattoos and makes a lot of noise in his workshop all day and night that is.
Seriously though now at age 38 I can say with great pride I am now my Dad. I fought it for more years than I care to remember but slowly and surely I can see the finer qualities in my Dad shine through with myself.
Working 40+ hours a week at my "real" job, you know the one that pays the bills? Plus being a father and a husband doesn't leave a lot of time for my love woodworking but with great skill and patience I do get to spend time creating.
I used to call it making sawdust, and in all honesty it was just that.
Nowadays I head into the workshop with a plan and a sketch and usually come out with something pretty close.
